Brett Dupont, DPM

Originally from the New England area, Dr. Brett Dupont is a highly trained and naturally skilled podiatrist who takes great pride in solving his patients’ foot and ankle concerns.

After graduating with honors and earning his Bachelor’s degree from Upstate Medical University’s College of Health Professions, Dr. Dupont began his career in healthcare as a respiratory therapist at a Level I Trauma Center in Syracuse, NY. He developed the ability to remain calm under pressure while participating in life-saving resuscitation efforts (“code” responses), and gained experience treating patients from the ER to the ICU, working evening shifts. During the day, he continued his education by completing medical school prerequisite courses at SUNY Oswego, furthering his lifelong goal of becoming a physician.

During this time, Dr. Dupont took the Mensa qualification exam, which recognizes individuals scoring in the top 2% worldwide based on IQ. He was subsequently inducted into Mensa, the largest and oldest high-IQ society in the world.

He continued working part-time as a respiratory therapist while pursuing his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. Upon graduation in 2013, he entered a three-year podiatric residency at Roxborough Memorial Hospital in Philadelphia, where he received extensive training in wound care, diabetic limb salvage, and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. At his residency graduation ceremony, he was recognized by his program director for his exceptional surgical skill.

After several years of practicing in Maryland, Dr. Dupont relocated to the West Coast to fulfill his long-standing goal of moving to California. He arrived in the Bay Area in the spring of 2019 and was immediately in awe of the natural beauty of Northern California and the kindness of the local community. In early 2020, while navigating the COVID-19 pandemic, he assumed ownership of Golden Gate Foot and Ankle and expanded its presence from Sonoma to a second location serving the South Berkeley and North Oakland communities.

With over 20 years of healthcare experience, Dr. Dupont combines clinical expertise with a patient-centered approach, helping individuals feel at ease while delivering the highest quality of care. His practice is committed to minimizing wait times, maintaining affordability, and providing effective solutions for a wide range of foot and ankle problems.
